  • The chapter must communicate with their advisory/corporation board and Acacia alumni of the changing policies at the University of Iowa with respect to social events by September 15, 2018.

Sanctions include:

  • Chapter must meet with Risk Management Expert, Kim Novak, during campus visit (March 2018).
  • Hold Alcohol Skills Training Program during the spring 2018 semester and incorporate your pillars into the training to connect how alcohol safety relates to the values of the organization.
  • Chapter leaders must present on the moratorium to the chapter.

Kim Novak is postponed, all other sanctions completed.

Sanctions include:

  • The chapter is on deferred suspension through spring semester 2020.
  • The chapter must communicate about its sanctions and expectations and support for culture change to alumni by May 1, 2018.
  • The chapter must assemble a full advisory board of 3-5 members by August 1, 2018.
  • The chapter facility will be 100% alcohol free through spring semester 2020.
  • The chapter is not allowed to participate in social events, recreational services sponsored activities, host a philanthropy, or provide community service until spring 2019.
  • The chapter is not allowed to recruit new members without approval of their recruitment plan by Division of Student Life staff.
  • Delta Chi leadership must fully participate in community self-governance by attending all required meetings, educational programs such as back the school workshop for Presidents, Risk Management 101, Impact, Phired Up, Impact, Launch, the FSL leadership class, etc.
  • The chapter must participate in an alcohol and other drug educational intervention (90% of members attending) by May 1, 2018.
  • The chapter must co-host, with the IFC, a hazing educational for the chapter (90%) and members of the IFC community no later than October 1, 2018.
  • The chapter’s new members must attend the IFC’s, New Member Day program
  • The chapter must meet with Risk Management Expert, Kim Novak, during her campus visit (August 2018).
  • Chapter leaders will fully attend Delta Chi International’s leadership opportunities including workshops, conferences, etc. during the deferred suspension.

Found responsible by the PHC Judicial Board.

Sanctions include:

  • Executive board hold a retreat prior August 20, 2018 with a special focus on position responsibilities, policy review, development of risk management procedures, and additional education on risk management.
  • Present Risk Management 101 at chapter meeting by September 30, 2018.
  • Before the chapter’s next event, whether alcohol is present or not, chapter leadership must meet with PHC VP of Risk Reduction and Management to discuss an overall risk management plan. In addition, a Panhellenic officer must attend a portion of the chapter meeting before the event and make sure all rules and expectations are covered.
  • Chapter must meet with Risk Management Expert, Kim Novak, during campus visit (August 2018).
  • All chapter officers should attend all mandatory programming for the fall semester, including back to school workshop for Presidents, Risk Management 101, Impact, Phired Up, etc.
  • When the University of Iowa Panhellenic and Interfraternity Council Moratorium is lifted, the chapter will remain on a moratorium for an extended 6 months or until Fall Semester 2018 is completed, whichever comes first – ineligible to host events with alcohol.

  • Chapter must create an expectation sharing/setting module for their New Member program.
  • Chapter must plan additional events without alcohol for members only.

Sanctions include:

  • Chapter must meet with Risk Management Expert, Kim Novak, during campus visit (March 2018).
  • Chapter will host a workshop on personal branding and how to conduct oneself in a manner that represents oneself and the chapter well.
  • Chapter will host two events during spring 2018 to develop relationships among members of the chapter with the executive board as well as aligning personal values with those of the organization
  • Chapter is no longer in compliance with the University of Iowa Panhellenic and Interfraternity Council Alcohol Moratorium – ineligible to host a pilot program event during spring 2018.

Kim Novak was postponed until August 2018, final sanction requiring two mandatory sisterhoods is incomplete.

  • The chapter’s leadership must fully participate in community self-governance by attending all required meetings, educational programs such as back the school workshop for Presidents, Risk Management 101, Impact, Phired Up, Impact, Launch, the FSL leadership class, etc.
  • The chapter must participate in an alcohol and other drug educational intervention (100% of members attending) by March 1, 2018.
  • The chapter must be represented in the Alternative Service and Hawkeye Service Teams course (CSIL taught three credit-hour course) in the 2018 spring semester and 2019 spring semester.
  • The chapter’s new members must attend the IFC’s, New Member Day program.
  • The chapter leadership must meet with Risk Management Expert, Kim Novak, during her campus visit (August 2018).
  • Chapter leaders will fully attend all Sigma Chi International Fraternity leadership opportunities including workshops, conferences, etc. during the deferred suspension.
  • The chapter will receive additional staff support from the international organization, and will be supervised closely during recruitment.
  • The chapter will be subject to a membership review (conducted by the international organization) and a comprehensive, multi-phase, chapter development program.
